Bio
Dr. Jamelia Harris is the founder of Write Your Dissertation, Sis and a nationally recognized researcher, educator, and equity consultant with over a decade of experience in research, teaching, and policy advocacy. She currently serves as the Senior Director of Collaborative Research and Innovative Thought at the Justice + Joy National Collaborative, where she leads initiatives to end violence in the lives of Black girls and girls of color through community-centered research, organizing, and systems change.

As a certified DEI practitioner and race-gender equity strategist, Dr. Harris has supported schools, government agencies, and community-based organizations across the country through research-informed professional development, strategic advising, and technical assistance.
Through Write Your Dissertation, Sis, Dr. Harris offers holistic academic writing support—helping Black women and femmes complete dissertations, craft powerful personal statements, and confidently step into the next phase of their scholarly or professional journey.

She holds a Ph.D. in Education from UCLA and a B.A. in Black Studies and Sociology from UC Santa Barbara. Her current work includes a Spencer Foundation–funded fellowship amplifying the voices of girls and gender-expansive youth of color to reimagine healing, safety, and futures free from systemic harm.

Dr. Harris provides race-gender equity and education professional development workshops, as well as research-based partnerships that promote inclusive, justice-oriented environments. Her services include designing research and evaluation tools, facilitating workshops, developing curricula, writing reports, and offering thought leadership in DEI and youth engagement initiatives.
