Bio
Dr. Jamelia Harris, founder and coach of Write Your Dissertation Sis, is a community-engaged researcher, educator, and consultant with over a decade of experience in research, teaching, and policy advocacy. As the Senior Director of Collaborative Research and Innovative Thought at the Justice + Joy National Collaborative, Dr. Harris is committed to ending violence in the lives of Black girls and girls of color through research, organizing, and advocacy.

Dr. Harris is a certified DEI practitioner and race-gender equity consultant who has supported individuals, schools, districts, government agencies, and community-based organizations nationwide with research-driven strategic partnerships, professional development, and technical assistance. Through Write Your Dissertation Sis, she provides academic writing services, including dissertation coaching, personal statement support, and CV editing, helping clients achieve their educational and professional goals.

Dr. Harris holds a Ph.D. in Education from UCLA and a B.A. in Black Studies and Sociology from UC Santa Barbara. Her current projects include a Spencer Foundation-funded fellowship amplifying the voices of girls and gender-expansive youth of color to reimagine healing, safety, and futures free from systemic harm.
